First place overall in the Swedish biathlon-cup!

With this weekend’s two second places, I managed to win the overall 2013-2014 biathlon Swedish Cup!  It has been a long winter that haven’t quite turned out the way I wanted, but taking the first place in the overall cup softened the blow of me not reaching the goal of representing Sweden in the Olympics – this time!  It sure was a nice ending to the season, so being me is not too bad.  The only competition that remains is the Swedish championship in Östersund in about two weeks. I am excited about ending the season in style and am training hard to do well in the last races of the season.

Swedish biathlon-cup Sollefteå.

This weekend I headed to Sollefteå for the season’s final competition in the Swedish biathlon-cup.

The schedule was as follows:

Day one: 15k Mass start

Day two: 10k Sprint.

I have been working my ass off the last couple of weeks as I have begun to prepare myself for next season, so I was a bit anxious about how this might impact my race performance. It turned out that I hadn’t lost my flow and I managed to take two second places. I must admit that this was a big relief as I was concerned that I might lose my standing in the overall cup. I am still waiting to hear about the final results, so I will come back with the total Swedish cup score later.

Started the trip with preparing my skies for the ski testing in our team wax wagon.

Ready to race.

Had one missed shot on the first shooting on the sprint.

Had great help from Malin Jakobson and Carolin Westling this weekend,

The podium on for the sprint competition.

The view from the topp of hallstaberget is really nice, and we enjoyed a nice lunch there before we went home.
